Everything you need to know about joining Sterling Ski Club

Thank you for your interest in Sterling Ski Club. We are a family-friendly ski and sports club founded in 1937. We are a totally volunteer-driven organization. We look for members who want to share their love of snow sports and year-round outdoor activities and become involved with the club.

Sterling Ski Club members participate in downhill skiing, snowboarding, telemark skiing, cross-country, and many other activities. We're also a fun four-season club with trips, hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, golf, happy hours, parties, picnics, and much more. Sterling Ski Club is where you'll make lifelong friends.

We are a club, not an inexpensive hotel. All members must take an active part in maintaining our lodges. If you're looking for lodging with no responsibilities, this may not be the right fit.

Maximum Membership: ~500 Members

What are Sterling's Member Expectations?

Lodge Stay Participation

Our lodges are shared by all members and require members to: clean up after themselves in common areas, clean their room/bed upon departure, and sign up for one cleaning assignment per stay (e.g., cleaning a bathroom or vacuuming). Sterling does not provide outside cleaning services—all work is done by members.

Volunteering

We understand not all members can equally volunteer due to work and family obligations, but for the club to function and thrive, we need volunteers.

Lodge Work Weekends

Each year (usually September/October) we have work weekends at each lodge for deep cleaning and maintenance. Skills aren't required, but construction, plumbing, or electrical experience is a plus!

General Volunteer Roles

Year-round, we need members to organize social events, serve on our Board of Directors, fill Officer positions, and join committees. We also need people with computer, website, communications, social media, marketing, and accounting experience. We actively use Zoom, so location shouldn't limit participation.
